Pierre Carresse (1936-2003) était un peintre français connu pour ses représentations uniques et humoristiques de la vie rurale.
Né à Bellocq, un petit village du Béarn.
- De 1950 à 1962, il a exercé le métier de vigneron.
- De 1962 à 1966, il a travaillé comme foreur de pétrole dans le Sahara.
- En 1966-1967, durant un séjour au sanatorium de Cambo, il a découvert la peinture, qui est devenue sa vocation principale.
Ses œuvres, appartenant au mouvement de l’Art Singulier, se caractérisent par une perspective et des proportions non conventionnelles.
Il mettait l’accent sur les éléments qu’il jugeait essentiels, comme les paysages, les maisons ou les visages expressifs.
Ses tableaux offrent une vision authentique et poétique de la vie dans son village natal.
Ses œuvres ont été exposées dans diverses galeries et institutions, notamment au Musée de la Création Franche. Elles ont également été vendues lors de ventes aux enchères publiques.
